HCST*Net Acceptable Use PolicyHCST*Net's Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") is designed to help protect HCST*Net, HCST*Net's clients and the Internet community in general from irresponsible or, in some cases, illegal activities. The Policy is a non-exclusive list of the actions prohibited by HCST*Net. HCST*Net reserves the right to modify the Policy at any time, effective upon posting at http://www.hcst.net/legal/aup.htm. Prohibited Uses of HCST*Net's Systems, Products and Services
Each HCST*Net client is responsible for the activities of its end-users and, by accepting service from HCST*Net, is agreeing to ensure that its end-users abide by this Policy. Complaints about end-users of a HCST*Net client will be forwarded to the HCST*Net client's contacts for action. If violations of the HCST*Net Acceptable Use Policy occur, HCST*Net reserves the right to terminate services with or take action to stop the offending customer from violating this AUP as HCST*Net deems appropriate, without notice. HCST*Net also is concerned with the privacy of on-line communications and web sites. In general, the Internet is neither more nor less secure than other means of communication, including mail, facsimile, and voice telephone service, all of which can be intercepted and otherwise compromised. As a matter of prudence, however, HCST*Net urges its subscribers to assume that all of their on-line communications are insecure. HCST*Net cannot take any responsibility for the security of information transmitted over HCST*Net's facilities. HCST*Net will not intentionally monitor private electronic mail messages sent or received by its subscribers unless requested by the client, or when required to do so by law, governmental authority, or when public safety is at stake. HCST*Net may, however, monitor its service electronically to determine that its facilities are operating satisfactorily. Also, HCST*Net may disclose information, including but not limited to, information concerning a subscriber, a transmission made using our network, or a web site, in order to comply with a court order, subpoena, summons, discovery request, warrant, statute, regulation, or governmental request. HCST*Net assumes no obligation to inform the subscriber that subscriber information has been provided and in some cases may be prohibited by law from giving such notice. Finally, HCST*Net may disclose subscriber information or information transmitted over its network where necessary to protect HCST*Net and others from harm, or where such disclosure is necessary to the proper operation of the system.
