IT Cooperative Education Position

HCST has an opening for a Cooperative Education position for IT-track student(s) (MIS, CS, CES). Our previous cooperative education positions have proven very valuable for the student and HCST. You'll be working in a real-live environment, exposed to a wide variety of systems, issues, and people.

We anticipate the following specific job functions for this position:

First-line support. Our Co-Op person will assist in answering incoming phone calls, resolving as many issue as possible on the first call, or obtaining information for a call-back from senior tech support staff.

Internal IT Support. Co-OP will be challenged with opportunities assisting with internal systems (linux and windows); managing and configuration email servers, web servers, backup devices, routers, and VPN configurations.

Web Maintenance. When necessary, Co-Op will be involved in making minor edit changes to client web sites to satisfy their requirements.

Work Location / Hours

The HCST office is located in Beavercreek Ohio, and this position will be staffed at that location.

HCST is flexible in working with either part-time students, or alternative work/study semester/quarters as appropriate.

Help Desk Support Technician

HCST is seeking a number of junior-level IT support technicians to provide telephone-based IT support services. The Help Desk technicians will be required to field incoming calls from clients, generally relating to basic MS-Windows usage, network communications, basic application support, and password reset requests.

A set of expected call types, and their resolutions will be provided, for this position. The Help Desk Support Technician must be able to understand, and communicate effectively and clearly in english with the caller to resolve their issue. Network Communication issues are often related to operating in WiFi hotspots.

A demonstrated degree of proficiency and experience will be required in order to be able to answer a variety of common issues on the first call. A CompTIA A+ certification is beneficial, but not mandatory.

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, and maintain a superior customer service demeanor is absolutely required.

WORK HOURS:
The Help Desk Support Technicians will provide phone-based coverage from 5pm to midnight, weeknights. Anticipated 1 day per week, with flexible scheduling.

Anticipated call volume is no more than 1 call per hour average, generally less. This position is ideal for the IT-oriented college student with demonstrated basic IT skills.

This position is a "work-at-home" position. Technicians will need to have a high-speed internet connection suitable for Voice-Over-IP, and a computer (Windows XP, Vista, or Linux with a graphical desktop. HCST will provide a VoIP phone for your use for this project.

Entry-level Inside Sales position
