Barry D. Hassler
President, Hassler Communication Systems Technology, Inc.
Barry D. Hassler founded Hassler Communication Systems Technology, Inc. (HCST)
in 1991.
Barry currently serves as President, and is primarily
responsible for day-to-day operations of the company, as well as providing
technical direction for the company.
HCST's 6 other employees (in addition to Barry and his wife Lori, CEO
of the company) provide Internet and network-related consulting and support
services for businesses and organizations in the greater Miami Valley.
Barry's principle areas of expertise include
- Local and Wide Area networking, including network design, routing
architecture, protocol analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Linux
- Network and systems security.
- Design, development, hosting and maintenance of "active" websites,
especially eCommerce sites which don't fit a standard "eCommerce" mold.
- Systems and requirements analysis.
- Programming, esp. perl, shell scripts and C.
Barry has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of
Dayton (1983), and a Masters Degree in Computer Science from Wright State
University (1992).
Prior to forming HCST, Barry worked for Control Data Corporation
(history).
Among other responsibilities, Barry was responsible for operations of
multiple multi-million dollar on-line data integration systems for the
United States Air Force, and was a lead analyst responsible for development of
software for compliance of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, prior to its being finally signed in 1991.
Barry is married to Lori (Keefner) since 1987; has two sons: Alex (Aug 2000), and Joseph (Mar 2006), and two golden retrievers: Abbey and Duke.
They live in Springfield, Ohio.
Barry was born in Reading, Pennsylvania in 1961.
