GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
AFSA Kittyhawk Chapter 751
1. The meeting was called to order at 1135 in Fireside Room at the WP Club, by Ruben Garcia, with thirty people in attendance. Four first time attendees were introduced.
2. CORRESPONDENCE:
Received:
a. A Thank You letter from the Fisher/Nightingale Houses Inc. (FNHI) for the Thanksgiving dinner.
b. A Thank You letter from FNHI for the $172 donation made at the Christmas gift wrapping booth at the BX.
c. A Thank You letter from the Enlisted Village for the $100 donation made in the name of AFSA International President “Doc” McCauslin.
d. A request from Portage Lakes Joint Vocational School AFJROTC to support their Award Ball with an AFSA Award on 7 Apr 06.
e. A request from Midview High School AFJROTC to support their awards ceremony with an AFSA award on 11 Apr 06.
f. A request from Rutherford B. Hayes High School AFJROTC to support their Award Ball with an AFSA award on 4 May 06.
Sent:
a. A sympathy card to Rodney Hromada’s in-laws on the death of his mother in-law, from the “AFSA Family”.
A. Secretary: The minutes from February GMM meeting were reviewed and accepted.
B. Treasurer: The January report was reviewed and accepted.
C. Airman Activities Coordinator: Scott Wise will PCS later this year. A1C Kelechij Brereton will replace him as the primary AAC, A1C Karen Camerino and SrA Mia Newmeyer will assist. Kelechij Brereton reports that the highway clean up on 4 Mar 06 went very well, with 20 volunteers to assist. The next highway clean-up will be scheduled in June.
D. Enlisted Partnership: This meeting was cancelled, no report to make.
E. Membership: Rodney Hromada reports that the membership drive is over and Kristen TenWolde recruited the most members with 28, Andy Anderson was close behind with 22. We had 101 new recruits and 62 retained during the drive. Our total membership today is 3013.

H. Fisher Nightingale Houses, Inc. (FNHI): Chris Stanley says that the All American Evening to support the FNHI will be held on 29 Apr 06. The Jazz Ensemble from Beavercreek High School will be performing that evening. There is always plenty of food and fun, to include silent and live auctions.
I. Community Action Information Board (CAIB): Nothing to report
J. First Term Airman Center (FTAC): Stacie Parsons reports that the next meeting is this Thursday at 1400.
K. Auxiliary: Julie Durkee reports that the next Auxiliary meeting is at Dian Anderson’s home on 15 Mar 06 at 1900 and all spouses are encouraged to attend. Julie attended the “Hearts Together” program on 16 Feb 06 and spoke to the spouses of deployed members about AFSA, the Auxiliary, being a member and volunteering.
5. OLD BUSINESS:
A. Dayton Bombers, Chuck-A-Puck: Joe Tangherlini reports that the fund raiser is going well, but we can always use more support. It’s a fun night out, and a free hockey game. There are just a few more games to support, so come out and enjoy. (OPEN)
B. Chapter Newsletter: Rich Striggow reports that the newsletter is at the printers and should be finished next week. He will be looking for a few volunteers to help get the labels on for mailing. (OPEN)
C. Tops in Blue: John Merryman reports that the show is tomorrow night at the Nutter Center. Volunteers should get parking passes from him, and be at the Nutter Center by 1800. (OPEN)
D. Heroes Welcoming Heroes Home: Entertainment and food for family, and members that have been deployed, and have returned 16 Oct 05 – 15 Mar 06. It’s an informal gathering at the AF Museum on 15 Mar 06. (CLOSED)
E. AFSA Division 7 Convention: Report from Fred Dembinski that the convention is 21-22 Apr 06 at WPAFB. The planning committee has a meeting this evening at 1700. International President “Doc” McCauslin has accepted his invitation to attend. We need donations to auction and raffle, and monetary donations are greatly appreciated. Award nominations need to be turned in to Fred or Andy Anderson by COB 23 Mar 06. (OPEN)
6. NEW BUSINESS:
A. Exemplary Service Medal: Joe Tangherlini presented Chris Parsons with this medal during the meeting since Chris was unable to attend the Awards Banquet. (CLOSED)
B. Open Discussion:
1. Award winners: Two members at our meeting have received awards recently: TSgt Stacie Parsons, NCO of the Year; and SMSgt David Fancher, First Sergeant of the Year. (CLOSED)
2. CMSAF Murray: Joe Tangherlini reports that Chief Murray spoke at the Professional Military Education (PME) course that he recently attended. Joe says that Chief Murray spoke highly about AFSA and how the members lobby on Capital Hill. (CLOSED)
3. Healthcare Correspondence: George Broome reports that he has received two written replies to his emails regarding TRICARE issues. (CLOSED)
C. Meeting Speakers: The Chapter is asking for ideas for future guest speakers, or subjects that we would be interested in hearing more about. An idea mentioned: Who will be the next CMSAF? (OPEN)
