MINUTES OF THE
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
AFSA Kittyhawk Chapter 751
1. The meeting was called to order at 1135 in the Fireside Room at the WP Club, by President CMSgt (Ret) Ruben Garcia, with 30 people in attendance. Two first time attendees were introduced.
2. CORRESPONDENCE: (Received)

3. ELECTIONS: The following is the list of those elected into office for 2007:
· President: CMSgt (Ret) Ruben Garcia
· Vice President: SMSgt George Broome
· Trustees: 1st SMSgt (Ret) Fred Dembinski (2 year)
2nd TSgt Stacie Parsons (1 year)
3rd TSgt (Ret) Jeff Stepanek (2 year)
4th MSgt (Ret) Rodney Hromada (1 year)
5th TSgt Tony Pence (2 year)
4. REPORTED:
a. Secretary: Minutes from 7 Nov 06 GMM were approved with changes: Item 3k, CMSGT to CMSgt; item 4a and b, CMCgt to CMSgt (3 instances).
b. Treasurer: October report was approved.
c. Enlisted Partnership: CMSgt (Ret) Ruben Garcia– It was announced by CMSgt Smith that the Enlisted Pilots Convention will be held at Wright-Patt in October 2007. Approximately 30 pilots are expected, including Chuck Yeager and Carroll Shelby. Looking for a SNCO as a POC for the event. d. Airman Activities Coordinator: SrA Jacquelyn Allen – AFSA supported Airmen Against Drunk Driving (AADD) on 1 Dec 06 and aided four persons. The Christmas tree lighting ceremony on 1 Dec 06 went very well.
e. Membership: TSgt Stacie Parsons – AFSA as a whole has recruited over 20,000 members in 2006. CMSgt (Ret) Andy Anderson –Chapter 751 stands at 3034 members. We have recruited 446 for the year, and retained 162. CMSgt (Ret) Ruben Garcia –MSgt (Ret) Rodney Hromada is talking to a couple people that are interested in the Membership Chairman position. A reminder of membership kick-off on 19 Jan 07.
f. Legislation: CMSgt (Ret) Andy Anderson – Congress was in session for 94 days this year. Andy will email a list of bills or you may read more on the website: http://www.hcst.net/afsa751/legislation.htm MSgt Jim Allen brought up the idea to invite some politicians to our banquet.
g. Chapter Web Page: CMSgt (Ret) Ruben Garcia – Received some photos from the Thanksgiving basket assembly from Air Force Readiness Center. Please visit http://www.hcst.net/afsa751/
h. Fisher Nightingale Houses, Inc. (FNHI): SMSgt George Broome- the next meeting will be their general elections. For more information, please visit: http://www.fnhi.org/
i. First Term Airman Center (FTAC): SMSgt George Broome - Only two students were recruited from the last session.
j. Auxiliary: Julie Durkee– Next meeting 6 Dec 06 at Celesta Merryman’s home. This meeting will be the Auxiliary elections; anyone wishing to get involved should attend this meeting.
5. OLD BUSINESS:
a. AFSA Banquet: SMSgt (Ret) Fred Dembinski – All plans are going well for 19 Jan 07 event. (OPEN)
b. Dayton Bombers Chuck-A-Puck: CMSgt (Ret) Ruben Garcia – Check is supposed to be in the mail. (OPEN)
c. Thanksgiving Baskets: TSgt Stacie Parsons – 260 baskets were assembled and delivered. (CLOSED)
d. Newsletter: CMSgt (Ret) Ruben Garcia – Postcards were mailed last month. There is a list of about 60 members wishing to have a paper copied mailed to them. Next newsletter should be ready in February. (CLOSED)
e. Gift Wrapping at the BX: CMSgt (Ret) Ruben Garcia – 8 & 9 Dec 06, plenty of volunteers signed up, all proceeds will be donated to the FNHI. (OPEN)
f. VA Christmas Party: CMSgt (Ret) Chuck Worm – all on track for 9 Dec 06, will leave Hope Hotel at 0900 if anyone wants to carpool or caravan. Received a $300 anonymous donation and TSgt Stacie Parsons purchased hats, gloves and socks. (OPEN)
6. NEW BUSINESS:
a. AFSA Members Holiday Social: MSgt (Ret) Geoff Oliver has invited members to his home on 9 Dec 06 (1800) for a holiday social. (CLOSED)
b. Tops in Blue: CMSgt (Ret) John Merryman - Tops in Blue, 7 Feb 07, Nutter Center, more information to come soon, will need volunteers. (OPEN)
c. King’s Island: need POC (OPEN)
d. Enlisted Pilot’s: CMSgt (Ret) Ruben Garcia – Oct 2007, discussed in reports. (OPEN)
e. 50/50 Fund Raiser: CMSgt (Ret) Ruben Garcia – approved to proceed to wing leadership with letter regarding 50/50 fund raiser during GMM and use funds to assist enlisted personnel with AFSA membership. (OPEN)
f. Open Discussion: Kevin Martin says he has a hot dog cart that can be used for any AFSA event. (CLOSED)
